Depending on the career you are interested in pursuing, most Healthcare Documentation Specialist (MTs) work from the privacy of their homes. This is one of the reasons this field of work is so popular. You never have to worry about a parking place or those high gas prices!
Medical Billing and Coding Specialists typically begin working on-site, then quickly move to remote work, primarily due to the pandemic.
Most of the existing Medical Scribes work on-site; however, a growing population of remote (virtual) scribes are being employed today.
Contact (Call) Center Associates, Clinical Medical Assistants, Medical Administrative Assistants, EKG, Phlebotomy, Patient Care Technicians, Medical Office Managers, and Veterinary Assistants work on site.
What should I look for in choosing the best program for myself?
Why can’t I just enroll in any program?
Healthcare documentation specialists, medical billers and coders, medical scribes, medical assistants, medical office managers, medical technicians, and veterinarian assistants all require thorough training, and not everyone is qualified to teach these types of courses. And not every program includes all the skills and knowledge needed by today’s employers. Let’s face it—you’re not doing this for fun. The goal is to get a job. AHDPG provides the training you need to become successfully employed.
What are the admissions requirements for AHDPG?
To qualify for enrollment, candidates must complete the Student Screening Assessment. The purpose of the Student Screening Assessment is to confirm each candidate has a minimum level of computer knowledge to be successful in an online training program.

Are your courses designed for self-study?
Yes, the courses are self-paced (asynchronous), with instructor support. What this means to you is that you can work on your program on your own schedule and at your own pace, within reason and an instructor is available to mentor, monitor, explain the curriculum, answer your question, but most importantly provide feedback to you on your work and assignments as you complete your program.
Will I have contact with my instructors?
Our instructors are here to mentor, monitor, explain the curriculum, answer your questions, and provide feedback on your work and assignments as you work through the program. Your instructors will have regular online office hours with email support and telephone availability. You will personally know your instructors.
What does the all-inclusive program fee include?
Your program fee covers your tuition, books and materials, everything you need to complete the training. For students enrolling in the Healthcare Documentation Specialist (MT) program, we also include foot pedal and headset, our CHDS Prep Course enrollment, and several online reference resources.
What are the minimum computer requirements?
We strongly recommend having an actual computer (laptop or desktop) to complete your training, not a mobile device. Mobile devices (iPads, Chromebooks, tablets, or smartphones) will, in some situations, work for introductory study; functionality will be limited, so we do not recommend them as the primary source of study.

Can I use my Apple/Macintosh computer to take your courses?
You must use a Windows-based computer to enroll in the Healthcare Documentation Specialist program. An Apple/Macintosh computer can be used in all other training programs.
