Peter Reilly
President & Chief Executive Officer
Peter is the President and Chief Executive Officer of the American Healthcare Documentation Professionals Group. Under his leadership, AHDPG is focused on increasing the efficiency of our healthcare system by providing a unique combination of services, training, and certification to improve clinical documentation and allow physicians to focus on their patients. Peter launched AHDPG in 2010 following his four-year tenure as the Chief Operating Officer for Transcription Relief Services, LLC. Peter brings more than 25 years of experience in the health information management industry, having served in several senior sales, marketing, and training positions at Lanier Worldwide, Inc., McKesson Corporation, Kronos, BearingPoint, and various startups.
Peter graduated from Boston College with a bachelor’s degree in economics. He lives with his wife and three children in a suburb west of Boston, Massachusetts.
Joseph Reilly
Director of Marketing, Communications, and Business Development
Joseph is our Director of Marketing and Business Development. He is responsible for the marketing and business development efforts for our services, training, and certification programs.
In 2019 Joseph began a journey to revamp the back-office sales and marketing programs with the implementation and integration of the Salesmate CRM, email marketing via MailChimp, and an ongoing update and revision of the AHDPG website.
Before AHDPG, Joseph worked in the marketing department of the Boston Red Sox—baseball being one of his great passions in life!
Breena Gilland
Online Team Lead/HDS Instructor
Breena leads the delivery of our online training programs. She also oversees our Healthcare Documentation Specialist, Clinical Medical Assisting, Medical Administrative Assisting, Medical Billing and Coding, EKG, and Phlebotomy Technician Training Programs.
Breena began working with AHDPG (initially TRS/TRS Institute) as an MT and has had the privilege of wearing many hats, including quality assurance and supervisory roles. She joined the education team in 2007. She enjoys working with students hoping to enter this exciting and ever-changing field.
Breena graduated from Oberlin College in Ohio, majoring in French and Sociology. She moved to North Carolina in 2009 from New Hampshire and currently lives with her husband, two boys, and their expanding household of pets. She enjoys spending time with her family, reading, baking, music, traveling, volunteering at the Humane Society, and Geocaching.
Jennifer Degnan
Accounting, Human Resource, and Student Services Coordinator
Jennifer joined AHDPG in 2021 following a 20-year career raising three beautiful children and a husband. Jennifer leads our Accounting, Human Resource, and Student Services efforts.
Before raising her family, Jennifer spent 14 years working in various positions for Putnam Investments, the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, Morgan Stanley, and Eaton Vance.
Jennifer and her family live in a suburb south of Boston.
Bob Harvey
Strategic Advisor
Bob is a longtime partner and strategic advisor. Over the years, his wisdom and advice have contributed significantly to the success of the American Healthcare Documentation Professionals Group.
He brings over 30 years of healthcare business development experience to AHDPG. Bob served numerous strategic and leadership roles in a career spanning 17 years with Lanier Worldwide. In early 2000, he launched a career as President of Transcription Relief Services, LLC (TRS) and began a training competency development institute named TRS Institute (TRSi). Bob’s primary focus was solutions’ selling and delivering what was promised, and developing skilled professionals empowered to excel in their position.
Bob graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Relations and History from the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill. He currently resides in Jupiter, Florida, and has three sons.
