What is it?
This course is designed to introduce the allied health professional to electronic health records in both inpatient and outpatient settings. What does the EHR Course cover?
This is an independent study 8-week online course which covers the factors that led to the emergence of electronic health records, the functions of an EHR in both the outpatient and inpatient settings and the advantages the EHR offers over paper based records. Students will be introduced to the different types of electronic health records and explain how personal health records differ from electronic health records with a focus on the challenges electronic health information poses to the privacy and security of patient health information. The program includes hands-on experience utilizing McKesson’s Practice Partner EHR. The student will be given a maximum of 10 weeks of access to the online learning system from enrollment date to complete the curriculum in its entirety. Anatomy and Physiology for Allied Health Professionals

Speech Recognition Technology (SRT)
What is it?
In collaboration with the Association for Healthcare Documentation Integrity (AHDI) and 3M Corporation, AHDPG has developed the industry's premier speech recognition editing course. This course is being offered exclusively through AHDPG and will:
- Assist the practicing MT to confidently make the transition from standard transcription production worker to successful SRT knowledge-based worker.

This course is a 100% online, self-study SRT course with open enrollment and is designed to be completed at the student’s individual pace within an approximate 8 to 12-week timeframe. Cardiology
What is it?

This 6-week course encompasses anatomy and physiology of the heart, cardiovascular symptomatology and assessment, cardiac disease conditions, pharmacology, and diagnostic studies. Each week, students will be presented with a slide show (webinar) by the instructor, followed by online activities that are computer graded. The webinars cover an extensive amount of information and are recorded for later viewing in case a student cannot attend the live presentation. Students will transcribe practice cardiology reports, which will be reviewed by the instructor and feedback will be given to the student. Diagnostic Imaging
What is it?
Diagnostic imaging tests are a part of nearly every report transcribed by a medical transcriptionist. This area of
diagnostic testing plays a crucial role in medical decision making, and each test has a set of terminology,
abbreviations, and descriptions all its own. To ensure that information pertaining to these tests is accurately
transcribed into a patient’s medical record, a transcriptionist must have a thorough understanding of the purpose
of each test, as well as the testing process and the terminology used to describe the results. This 4-week self-study
course entails online learning via recorded webinars, weekly outlines, exercises, and transcription reports; and a
Final Exam. Educational topics include transmission and reflection imaging, emission imaging and nuclear
